Draft pending review by counsel

Registry terms

These terms explain what you agree to when you register or hold a portal name on The Portal Mesh Registry, run by Jubilee Software, Inc. This is a working draft. It will be reviewed by counsel before public launch and may change.

1. Your account

  • You sign in with a Jubilee ID. Two-factor authentication is required before you register a name or change one.
  • You choose whether the account is for a person or an organization. An organization gives a private, accountable point of contact, which is never published.
  • You are responsible for everything done with your account, including by team members you invite.

2. Portal names

  • A portal name is an address on the Worldwide Portal Mesh, such as jubileeinspire.character. Each namespace has its own rules, shown before you register; you accept them when you register.
  • Every registration receives a permanent ID. A permanent ID is never reused, even after a name is retired.
  • Names use the letters a to z, the numbers 0 to 9 and hyphens. Names that imitate another name with look-alike characters are sent to review.
  • Some names are reserved: major historical and biblical events, well-known figures and protected brands. Requests for reserved names go to review and may be declined.
  • The verified owner of a matching web domain or trademark has priority for the same name on the Mesh.

3. Fees and renewal

  • The registration fee is shown before payment, in every namespace, and is charged through Stripe. The registry never sees your card.
  • Registrations run for a term and renew yearly unless the registry announces otherwise. A name that is not renewed is suspended after a grace period and may later be released.
  • Subnames you create under your own name are free and renew with their parent.

4. Verification and review

  • Some namespaces need more than a standard account: identity verification for avatars and homes, organization verification for businesses, ministries and schools, a review for figures, a SOURCE review for realms and destinations, and a rights statement for movies, music and books.
  • Identity and organization evidence is reviewed by Jubilee. Only the result, the reviewer and the date are kept; uploaded documents are deleted as soon as a decision is made.

5. Your key and your records

  • Your browser makes each name's private key. Jubilee never receives it and cannot recover it. You are responsible for keeping the key file and its passphrase safe.
  • Records you publish are signed with your key and verified by the registry. You are responsible for what your records point to.
  • A name's certificate proves its provenance and, for an identity, its registered persona, not the accuracy of any underlying model.

6. Relationship labels

Relationship labels such as AI Son, AI Daughter, AI Employee, AI Contractor or AI Service describe roles only. They do not create human employment status, legal personhood, or human rights.

7. Content rules

  • No AI identity may represent one who is worshipped or venerated as divine, or the founding prophet of a religion.
  • An experience may depict Yeshua only as a scripted, non-interactive presence whose words come from Scripture. No AI voice speaks as Him.
  • Figures exist for informational and educational purposes only. A verified estate or rights holder may take over a figure or require that it not be activated.
  • Experiences carry a content rating, age limits and an always-available exit. Experiences of atrocities and tragedies receive additional review.

8. Transfers, suspension and retirement

  • Names may be transferred between accounts, except avatars, which are bound to one person for life. The recipient takes the name with their own new key.
  • Jubilee may suspend a name that breaks these terms or its namespace rules. The owner sees the reason and may appeal.
  • You may retire a name at any time. Retirement is permanent: the registry issues a death certificate and never reissues the name's permanent ID.

9. Disputes

Rights claims about movies, music, books and other works go through the registry's takedown process. The registry may place a name on hold while a dispute is reviewed.

10. The service

  • The registry and Portal Name Services are provided as they are. Jubilee works to keep them available and correct but does not promise uninterrupted service.
  • To the extent the law allows, Jubilee's liability is limited to the fees you paid for the affected name in the past twelve months.
  • Governing law and venue will be set out by counsel in the final version.

11. Changes and contact

When these terms change, the registry will say so on this page and, for material changes, by email. Questions about these terms go to Jubilee Software, Inc. See also the privacy notice.
